1) Your reason for running:
I want to be a positive force in the efforts to maintain and improve the Ranch.

2) Your "platform":
Let's make it greener, funner, with more to do and more to enjoy.

3) Your experience:
Property management and maintenance; Roofing Contractor.

4) How long you've owned property at DSR:
My family has been there since 1977.

5) Your vision for the future:
The ranch should be a place to have fun, with things to do, picnic pavilions for shade, neat and clean cabins, good roads, good water, good fishing, horseback riding, farm animals and wild game. Hike or ride the roads and trails on horses, mountain bikes or anything motorized. See what a real homestead cabin looks like inside and out. Let's restore the one in the meadow.

6) What YOU want the members to know about you your hopes for the Ranch: Deer Springs Ranch is much the same as it was when I first saw it 35 years ago. In some ways things have improved. I am very grateful to all who have made it possible, including the developer and his dream, the ranch managers and board members, past and present, who work long, sometimes thankless hours and all of the owners who have contributed in anyway.

I hope the whole Deer Springs Ranch experience can be positive and lasting. Starting with the entrance to the ranch. Let's put up something that says "Welcome to DSR, YOU ARE HERE!" Let's preserve or rebuild the barn so it will be there for generations to come. Did you know we lost the east side? Let's do something before it's too late and we loose the rest. We have erosion issues around the ranch headquarters and elsewhere, that need attention. We have most of the material we need to put up some picnic pavilions. We need the shade and the tables! Let's make it happen.

We should continue to improve the habitat for wild game like elk, deer, turkey, ducks, etc. How about a diving platform, a zip line and a row boat at the ponds? For me, fun at the ranch includes finding a safe place to shoot, on the ranch. Let's create a safe place or at least designate a place to shoot. I understand all this will cost money. My hope is to find ways to make these projects a reality with what is in the current budget and to come up with innovative ways to increase the ranch income without increasing the association fees or increasing reservation fees. As members, consider donating time/material and we can make it happen.

I have been to the ranch many times starting when I was a young teenager with my dog. When I can not be there, it is only a day dream away. I am hopeful that the ranch can be the place people want to stay for a weekend, a summer or a lifetime. It can be a working cattle ranch. It can be a place for children of all ages to find plenty to do, from daring each other to look a llama in the face to relaxing by the lake with a fishing pole or maybe go for a swim , ride a horse, be part of a cattle drive, hike to the pink cliffs, get lost on Deer Springs Point, see the lost cabin on the east end of Lick wash, and a thousand other things (that I still have not been able to do). I love the ranch and all the memories. I have tried to share DSR with as many of my friends and family as possible for family reunions, youth groups, boy scouts, and church groups. May I suggest a honey moon adventure at the ranch? Twenty-five years ago we tried it and it works! So, we keep going back. There must be something good in the water.

My hope is to build on what has been accomplished. Let's make it happen!
